Yeah so today I might get me a TA. I'm about to head out to San Antonio and go check out a '96 TA. It's a red t-top M6, and supposibly the interior is supposed to be in immaculate interior and the exterior is supposed to look like a new car. It's owned by an elderly guy who can't drive it anymore cause he already had 2 strokes and it's hard for him to drive standard so you know it hasn't been ragged out. I'll let ya'll know what happens!!!!

So I just got back from SA, went to go look at a '96 TA. Turns out the owner was a complete jackass. Check this out. My Dad went out of his way to go with me to San Antonio to go look at that TA and the guy who is saleing it gave us his address and everything else. Once we got there, I called him and told him we were outside his house. The car was nice! My Dad asked if he could unlock the doors so we could look in the inside and the owner told him no because the car was parked on the hill and it might roll back and he only has liability insurance on it. He did pop the hood though and my Dad was looking around and saw a loose wire just hanging so my Dad kinda like touched the wire and the guy totaly freaked out on us. He told my Dad to keep his hands out of the engine compartment because everything had been rebuilt and all this other ****, then he told us that he doesn't want to sale the car anymore and that he was done. He told us that the car was booked at $14,000 and I started laughing out loud because the car was barley worth the asking price...$4500. He got mad and told me that the '96 TA was the only car made my GM to have the LT1 and I told him that was bullshit because my '95 Z28 had it. Then he said he didn't have time to be messing around then just told me and my Dad to leave his property. I seriously thought my Dad was going to hit him. What an ***! I think he was just racist or something. He didn't even want to shake mine or my Dad's hand when he came outside. Oh well the hell with that guy. I'd like to try and see him get $14,000 for that car lol... What an idiot!

What an A$$...

Try like crazy to keep the money put away...I know how it goes when you're car shopping.A little goes here,a little goes there...before you know it,you're looking at cars you don't even want because you have much less money then when you started out.THAT BITES.

Like was said...Your car will find you or it will come along.

Word of advice is when going to another city to look at a car,MAKE SURE to discuss just about everything except final dollar amount with the seller. That way there is NO surprises like this idiot gave you and your Dad.Tell them you would like to examine the engine bay, drive it,possibly put the car on a set of ramps to take a look at the car from below (body shops tend to get sloppy under the cars when they are being repaired. They figure if you don't normally see it when driving the car, they can just rush repairs. That can be good a good indication as to wether the car has been wrecked.).

Traveling to check out a car sux when the seller lies about condition.I drove from south Texas all the way to Dallas to check out a car once. The seller swore up and down that the car was in clean/tight condition. It wasn't.Then he had the nerve to take attitude with me because I wasn't going to buy the car!People...

Well I actually just got back from Corpus like 10 minutes ago. I bought a '96 Trans Am. It's nice! It has new leather seats which ran the previous owner somewhere around $900 just for the front, 315/35ZR17 tires in the back, Flowmaster exhaust, Moroso cold air intake. It's an automatic, but it was driven by a white girl it's whole life so you know it's never been beaten on too bad. Her husband was the one who put the rims and tires on it. The car drove good on the way back home. I was surprised I got 24-26mpg on the highway with it. Talked them down from $5000 to $4200. Not bad, oh and they threw some extra rear tires in also. Below are some pics of my new baby!
