Need help with filing a claim.
Ok, well as most of you know, in the last 2 days, I've had rocks thrown at my windshield (by a car), chipping it in a few spots and cracking it as well (~15" long), my hood chipped, my truck broken into with 2 pair of sunglasses stolen, and my in-dash dvd/screen smashed.
Would I be able to make one claim to get these items fixed?
Will my insurance company pay the shop(s) to fix it or will they issue me a check?
Do I need to get multiple quotes or quotes at all?
I do have the right to take it where ever I want.
How long does it usually take before they issue the check? I ask because I need to get my windshield replaced asap as well as my radio.
I don't want to have to make 2 claims, costing me $1000. I want a new head unit, my hood repainted, and a new windshield. I also have a few chips on the roof of my truck.

Well actually, I'm trying to decide/figure out what I'm going to say happen that way I can get all the damages repaired/replaced on one claim. I don't want to have to file 2 different claims (2-$500 deductibles) for what happened to my truck in the last 2 days.

I don't know of a way around making 2 claims. It's on two different cars and two different incidents.
Call your insurance and see what they say but on my truck I could take the truck to their place and have the damaged looked at and they would cut me a check or I could go to a certified place and just pay my deductible and the insurance would pay the rest. I went to the certified dealer to let them take care of it. Plus I don't have to worry about getting enough to fix the truck. Only problem I have is the fact that the dash is on backorder for 3 months

Who said anything about 2 different vehicles? This all happened to my truck. The windshield and hood happened Thursday morning on the way to work and the headunit was damaged overnight on Friday.
Couldn't I just say that all damages happened on the same day, same incident?
I'm not bitching about the deductible, but I certainly don't want to make 2 claims.

#1: As a result of me having to slam my brakes to avoid an accident, an object from my center console flew at the screen and cracked it. The car in front of me was ticked off and decided to peel out slinging rocks at my truck. That caused my windshield to create a big crack in it, along with other chips on the hood and roof.
#2: My truck was vandalized overnight resulting in items being stolen. The criminals decided they wanted to bust my screen out and throw rocks at my truck, resulting in a crack windshiled, chipped hood, and chipped roof.

Lower your deductible and you won't have to worry about paying as much out of your pocket at one time when you need to make a claim. Do the honest thing and make 2 claims OR call the insurance and see if they can work something out for you.
