Default Driving in this Rain!

Do people who have true duals and lowered F-Bodies have problems when crossing through large areas of water? It seems when I have no choice and go through the water the check engine light comes on the Z will want to shut down and he then has to be parked. Just want to know if others experience this?

Never had that problem, but I usually avoid driving into big puddles.

I never thought of that. Maybe? I usually have to park him and let him "dry-out".

do you have o2 extensions? When i had the extensions that came with the pacesetters they would get wet when i drove in the rain and i would have to let it sit for atleast a day before i could drive again. That might be your problem.

It's happened to me twice. No true duals. Both times it was the passenger side O2. Probably has something to do with extreme hot meets very cold.

i got an LT1 with LT's and Xpipe, very low to the ground, probably 3" at most from the ground, and yes I had to sit at a light in a puddle of water and going threw them, would make the car run like ****, and it wasnt the opti, not sure if the exhaust was suckin water or the o2's were soaked, or hot meets cold. After that, car ran like it had water in the cylinders, would misfire and ****. Parked it and let it dry, ran fine afterwards and i did get the light and it wanted to die.

I think that's exactly what is happening. If I have to go through lots of water it misfires and turns sour *** ****. He has to be parked and dry out. Today with the weather I think I will leave him in my parking spot at the garage at work and just tell the security to check on him at night. I will give them the okay to fire at will if he moves and I'm not behind the wheel.

I won't even drive my car in weather like this. You're asking for trouble.

obviously dont go through water if you dont have to,but if you have to don't let off the gas when you're in the puddle...if you're lowered and have TDs then you can suck water back up into your engine through the exhaust...im sure you already knew that but just makin sure

a couple of weeks ago a sucked a bunch of water into my air filter (k&n) and when i checked it later that day, i dumped water out of the filter lol

anyhow my CEL light never came on and the car still ran fine through the water and after (till i got home, never started it again until after i cleaned and reoiled the filter) and my exhaust hangs lowwwwww...and my o2s are way down there too, im sure the mid pipe was dragging through the water...but no CEL so for mustangs i guess if the o2s get wet the light doesn't come on but i dont know if its the same for f-bodies...it probably isnt...im stil convinced yall's engines run on which craft

yea mine does it only thing i can think of is water getting into the pass side connector and clogging up the "refrence" tube in one if the wire... not allowing it to get the right reading.... that sound good? lol dont know why it does it but is always the pass side o2

There were two young guys pushing a red LS1 T/A on San Augustine here in Deer Park today. I've seen the car @ a house on S.A. I drove to the car wash earlier and it was in the driveway. Lucky for him it took a **** a couple of blocks from his house. I would have stopped and helped them but one of them looked @ me funny because I was driving the Malibu. Oh well, atleast I was driving and not pushing, lol.... My Z was parked, and out of the weather.

Well, how do people come off saying that water can enter your exhaust when you let off? Even if it did go in a bit threw the tip it would never make it up the headers/manifilds, worst case even if it did happen would get the O2s....i dont see it happening.
