Default Inspection question?

How long does it take to get your evap system up?I reprogram my car to much I guess and im trying to get it inspected.Ive put 80 miles on it since the last time I tuned it. How do I know when the evap is ready for inspection?

It will not throw a code if you fixed it. If not you have to wait on your system to become ready. I would just go into the inspection place after the miles you have put on. All they can say is come back.

50miles usually does it, no less though

also, i dont know if auto zones OBD2 readers are capable but my obd reader will show you data the computer is receiving from each sensor which tells you if your evap is ready or not. stop by auto zone and ask them about checking it out(its free) you have to do it before dark though

the 02 sensor, 02 sensor heater, and catalyst ones take the longest. trust me im an inspector and always have my car hooked up to a scanner haha. go to autozone and tell them to read your readiness status. if they cant, just got to an inspection station and ask them to do it. you 3 or more systems set to "not ready" and youll fail. however, if they say not supported/enabled or something like that, thats fine. that just means that you car doesnt have that particular system.

2 complete heat and cool down cylces, mileage has NOTHING to do with it.

Now with this heat its going to be tougher. I dont know the exact temperatures but will give you an example:

engine start up engine coolant temp ~85 F and shutdown at or past ~185 F then let it cool to 85 F again and thats ONE cycle. You need two. Thats to get all emissions systems "complete". EVAP is the most sensative.
