Got a ticket in Cooke County!!!
I'm fine with getting the ticket, I was speeding. But my question is, in Oklahoma, if you opt to take Defensive Driving, you don't have to pay court costs. But the ticket says even if I take DD, I still have court costs? I haven't had a ticket in 8 years, so I always depended on taking DD to save money. According to the ticket though, if I just pay it, it is $94 for the court costs, and $3 for every mph over the speed limit. I was going 81 in a 70, so I would be spending $127. If I opt for DD, I'd still pay $94 for court costs, and $25 for the DD, which would still be $119. I live in OK, so I don't think the ticket would show on my driving record, I'm gonna check on that Tues., but do any of you guys know if court costs are just how they get more of your money?
Thanks in advance,
Aaron

Oh yeah, this is beside the point, but I was pulled over at 1:50pm. The ticket says the radar gun was calibrated at 1:52pm. BS or not? I didn't know they could calibrate a radar gun that quick.
