Default High Car Prices

I was looking on autotrader last night........searched for 98+ M6 Fbodies within 100 miles of Houston.....found 29 cars. I was amazed at the asking prices on these cars. Are people really buying them for that much? I mean a 2002 WS6 with 40k miles for 25k? And that was a private party, not a lot. Thinking about putting my car up for sale in a few months, but if people are really paying that much, maybe I'll do it now.

just My .02 cents, but No they are not going for that much, IMO they bought them used and for whatever reason, either too young, or bad credit or what ever, they are up side down in their cars now and want to get out of them, so in most cases the asking price is just the payoff, now there are a few exceptions to the rule for example I am currently looking for a 2002 S.O.M Firehawk Trans Am, and I am willing to pay a bit more for the right one, because I can, and thats what I want.

Every day another one gets pulled out of storage with less than 2000 miles and put up on ebay for around 25k the fact is most don't sell, but we were talking private party resale a used car lot could ask any price and get it if they are willing too, or can arrange financing to someone that couldn't otherwise buy one.

Yes they are going for that much. The value of these cars are steadily increasing.

I'm not saying I would expect 10+ for my 81k mile 98. Judging by the autotrader, I could list that car for 9500 and be just about the cheapest thing on there for the miles......

I paid $25K for my '02 Firehawk with 9K miles on it. That was earlier this year. Considering these cars cost over $30K brand new, I don't mind paying more for a clean car in like-new condition without many miles. The model year doesn't really concern me as long as the car is immaculate.

i feel lucky. i bought my 01 NBM ws6 in april and only payed 16k. it only had 9k on the clock. and it still smelled like a new car. clean as hell. still had the factory tires on it. i havent checked the value lately, but im willing to bet i could sell it now for more than i paid for it very easily

No questions there, low mileage 02, special edition cars I would expect to be pulling a premium.

I bought a Red '98 SS M6 w/41K miles back in June paid 13.8K for it. Excellent condition.
My brother in law bought a white '01 SS A4 last month with 8k miles that was better than new and paid 21K if I remember correctly.
My dad bought a '02 SOM SS last month with 13k miles that was better than new and paid 19K for it.

You can buy my car for $12,400
Its a 6spd in Houston,

I think I am being reasonable for a fully loaded 02 wtih 78K miles
Has perks like single owner and interior seats that have hardly been sat in.
