not much power wise.... except for the fact you can do more spray on the stronger block...... and the heads wont lift.

I dont think 427's are dynoing much more than 416's and the such......you dont notice as much of a gain from a 408 to a 427 as you do from a 370 to a 408......... or a 346 to a 408.... for some reason they hit a wall from 500 to 560rwhp after going 400 cubes+......... yet some 346's can peak over 500rwhp.... interesting nonetheless.

They hit the wall of shame in HP with bigger cubes because partly of machine work flaws on piston placement, a real set of cylinder heads done up superbly with supersonic quiet port flows, and a cam matched to the intake and application.....Average motor builds makes average hp. Pretty simple.

Yea, Good O Billy Ray is gettin er done!
I haven't even found a flaw in anything he has done on the car.
Outstanding work I must say.

I know what went wrong in the old engine.
I'll never know why the old engine went bad, I can always point fingers, but I'm not that type of guy.
Either way, I think I came out better this way.

Yup, just a Fast 90mm, this is a streetcar that will be driven for enjoyment purposes.

Yea, I used the dig camera that I got from you to make the video, but I have a pretty descent dig camcorder for the incar vids!

Difference between the LSX and a resleeved ls2 is obviously in the block.
To keep it short, LSX ='s much stronger

Appreciate the compliments everyone.
I tried to bring a lot of thought into the entire build.

another question.... what are the approx. specs on the cam?

New plate has already been ordered...it should go really nice with the car.
The cam...it's a cammotion custom grind, almost 260 duration.

I'd almost pay money to be in the car with someone that has to sit at a stop light next to a cop that pulls right beside you. I"m just curious as hell what do you guys say or do to not get tickets etc. I'm sure DPS (The Darth Vaders of Law Enforcement, however I still respect them for their line of work too) would go through you guys car with a find tooth comb.

Well, the peak power of a 427 will be similar to a 414-418. But you've got to remember it's really the power under the curve, say from off-idle to about 3500RPM's that really is more noticeable b/w the 427 and a smaller cube block. 427's have a large bore size, which allows for big valves and higher flow, coupled w/ the right valve train you can accomplish a superb powerband from low to high RPM's if your heads are flowing right. But in a personal opinion, I think one large factor when talking about power limits is the intake manifold. Sure, a ported Fast 90/90 is good for smaller blocks, I'd say up to about 402-408..but in a 427, I would imagine the FAST is done after about .400 lift, it no longer is capitalizing on the LS7 heads, since those particular heads outflow the intake manifold @ around .400" lift. To accomplish 650whp I think one would need a sheet metal intake that can competently flow 320CFM. Otherwise, you've have to go individual throttle bodies/higher compression/race gas and timing adjustments to reach your goal.

This is a street car, hence the FAST 90, not a sheet metal intake.
The car has ported ls6 heads, not ls7's.
The heads flow 338 cfm at .600.
My goal is 550rwhp, not 650 rwhp.
This is a hydraulic setup, not a solid roller/race motor.
Should have good numbers soon...hopefully!

Your car is gonna be a beast for sure. I suspect mid to low 6s out of your setup if you can get your 60fts down to mid 1.4s

I ran my setup for the first time & did 7.0 @ 96 on 17 all the way around on Drag Radials & that was with 415 RWHP.

I can only imagine what your car will do with 150 RWHP more then mine & yours weighs less too.
