Default Finally! The LS1 is in.

Finally! I sold my LT1 and decided to do the LS1 conversion, I have everything I need except the hoses and a powersteering pump assembly but I finally got the damn motor in the car, its sitting in there and I will be putting the headers in next and working on it when I can. When I was installing the LS1 I swore I thought the engine wasnt gonna fit at all but it went in good after i got the mounts on it. Hopefully this thing doesnt give me anymore problems. Pictures suck but I didnt have my camera on me so used my phone.

I used a regular kmember, I wouldve done a detailed guide but I could go back and take some pics of everything and put one together for you. I already got a rack and pinion and knuckle, doing my own wiring. Using 98 pcm and wiring harness.

thats what i have done so far, noone seems to have an LS1 powersteering pump for sale, the guy who sold me this motor is a member here, he keeps dodging me or something because he owes me some parts, including the ps pump but im tired of waiting on him. He works at lethal performance.

wrecked his 98 SS, sold me the motor and had another camaro or something and he blew a piston through the pan and backfired the intake and blew it. I seen the blown motor, was pretty nasty.

lol. I was gonna put the headers on the engine during install but i didnt wanna make it taht more difficult, I think since I have nothing on the engine I can get away with going through the top with them, prob have to hook up the hoist, loosen the motor mount bolts and swint it from side to side but I think I can get it.

looking good... this swap is rather simple after all. Where Ive found holes in the wiring diagrams available is the AC system but you can figure it out....

Mounts? like motor mounts and transmission mounts? I used the following for my conversion:

LS1 K-Member
LS1 Rack and Pinion w/ LS1 Knuckle
98-99 LS1 Corvette Fuel Rail
LT1/T-56 Transmission Cross-member
LS1 Motor Mounts
1998 SS Engine w/ Harness/PCM/Accessories
w/ LS1 T-56 and Slave/Master Cylinder
and
Steel Driveshaft from LT1.

As long as you have the LS1 stuff it will bolt right in just like an LS1 car.
