Default $40k for only 470rwhp?

I hope this isnt anybody on here and I apologize if it is but I'm looking in the Auto Trader and someone is advertising a 2005 GTO that has $40k in upgrades and is only pushing 470 rrwhp? I thought those things already draw a little over 400 hp stock. It says it's supercharged but ONLY 470 rwhp including that and about $30k more invested? Where do/would you guys get with $40k in extras in your hand? Are the GTO's that pricey to modify? Im only asking because I'm thinking about getting one or just keep my WS6 and throw 1/4 of that into there.

400 hp = 340 rwhp. You are comparing rwhp to crank hp.

$40K in upgrades better not be performance only, if so that is waaaay too much to spend. I'm making 550 rwhp with a stock engine and APS twin turbos, about $8K installed.

Sounds like he didn't cut any corners. It gets expensive when you build every part of the drivetrain and suspension to handle way more power than the engine makes, to keep everything reliable.

And he's probably counting labor to install, which you can't get money back on.

That should answer your question right there. Dealer labor rate at $95/hr, no labor book for installing a supercharger, gullible owner thinks it takes 40 hours to install a supercharger...
Any one of those could do
