Default SRT-10........thoughts??

I am on the market for another vehicle and I have really really liked the looks and the V10 power plant in these trucks but..........I have never been a big fan of Dodge products (I'm may just be ignorant). I will be purchasing this as a DD and I already know that they suck down some gas, yadi yadi yadi!!!

Do you or someone you know have one of these trucks. I am looking for the good, the bad, and the ugly. I respect all of your opinions and look forward to hearing your feedback.

Thanks for your time!

They did a test on a european car show, and it was faster than a Ford Focus RS around a circuit track...not bad for an american pickup exactley..

Well Ive always owned dodge trucks and they have always been good to us. We have a 95 that looks like **** but it ran to 286K miles with nothing but regular maintenace and a set of lifters. It just ****.

We also have a 03 and 05. 4.7 and 5.7. I really like them except for the seats. My *** hits the bars through the cushion, but most don't notice. haha. We havent really had any problems with either besides a ton of driver side tailights/bulbs/wiring harness. They just cannot get that tailight to work properly.
03 had 120K and the 05 has 87k we have owned both since new.

I dont have any first hand experience with the motor (besides on of the old truck V-10s that the original viper motor stemmed from) but Id say overall the body and all the other stuff is good, plus if your getting an early 2 doors, they were only available in the 6 speed, and we all know how awesome the T56 is.

We used to have a fellow co-worker that drove one, it was pretty nice. It was always at the dealership getting something fixed though.

The SRT truck gets about 9 mpg on a good day. They are very quick trucks in stock form though, plus they look killer.

If you want one that looks similar and costs 1/2 the price, I still have mine for sale. I'll take $17,5K for it this week, or I'll trade it in.

Those were my exact plans for it.

I have a set of rear 2" leveling shackles I'll throw in with the deal.

I finally got you to cross over to the dark side J.R.!!! Now that I have though, I'm getting the itch for a Vette. You want something with four doors...I want something with two. Just sell me the Z0SICK and buy the SRT-10 and we'll call it a day!

I'd have to get rid of the 'Hoe, but hey, you never know. My company bus makes me needing a big car kinda unnecessary now. Just what I needed...two cars that need premium! You let me know if you're serious about the SRT-10!

They look good, but hell my Hemi is pretty damn fast and alot cheaper. I get 17+ mpg on the highway and can tow a good bit if needed. 345hp isn't too bad.

Have you thought about a diesel instead of the SRT10? For the price of the SRT10 you could sure have a super nice, super fast Cummins powered dodge. I will warn you though, turbocharged daily drivers are addictive...It makes you wonder where the torque is when driving a gasser. Plus, you can have near 500 hp and a lot more torque with the addition of a $650 module. Just a thought.

Yea, I modded my dually and sheared the flywheel off the crank too. $12K. It's expensive to play with diesels in the long run.

I just really really want to play with a V-10.

I purchased a new Z71 a couple years back and kept it for less than 2 months. I didn't like it because everyone else had one.

Any idea what the towing capacity is and have they stopped making them? I looked on dodge.com and didn't find any info.

my dad has a silver quad cab, although the 9-10 MPG sucks ***.

Looks and styling are top notch, acceleration is A+ although launching is something elese.

They dont make too many aftermaret mods for this truck so far we have every bolt on there is which is intake, exhaust, headers and pc flash

Towing capacity: zip. nada. nothing. zero pounds. At least not the six-speed regular cab models. The quad-cab models were rated at like 8500lbs because of the automatic.

2006 was the last year for them, as far as I remember.
