It's either the fourth one, or none of the above, been a while since I dealt with "i" (imaginary numbers if I remember right). Now you have a 50 50 shot at a guess, and I really think its none of the above.

The only one that has 3 as a root is number four. You can use synthetic division to factor out the x - 3 root to get the polynomial down to a quadratic. Finding the other two roots is accomplished by plugging in the coefficients into the quadratic formula.

Do what Donohue said... Just guess. That's exactly what I would do in geometry back in high school and it turned out good. Just picked whichever one looked right lol.

I knew 3 would work, but its been a while since I fooled around with synthetic division (although its coming back to me now). The others were easily eliminated by just plugging 3 in. You see this is why I said screw engineering and complex math and became an accounting major.

Haha. That's cool. But I believe most Accounting majors have to take up to Cal II. I'm a physics major, so I have quite a bit of Calculus and a little beyond to take!

Not to my knowledge, and even so, I have taken and passed through Calc 2(I was an engineering major for a short time), and I found that Calc 3 is a bitch to pass when you don't go to class.

All those calc classes have equated to my finite math classes required for accounting so far.
