more bad luck. In addition to my truck not starting the trans am started ticking today. Sounded like a lifter so i took it by the Auto Shop. The owner Chad is a pretty cool guy told me it could be a bent pushrod or a broken valve spring. Anyways he told me to pop the valve cover off and check it out. Looks like i get to spend all weekend working on cars lol. If anyone has pushrods,valvesprings, or lifters laying around let me know..i may be in the market.

i had a valve spring go out on my ss, it made the car run like crap and made a ticking noise. look for a cracked spring, your gonna need a flash light, even after he told me it was a busted spring and i looked under the hood i didnt notice until the tech pointed it out. to swap a spring i dont think you need to take off the head, but there is a chance you bent a valve and did some damage to the piston (although you would notice your car would basically be running on 7 cylinders even after you replaced the spring)
