Probably just a new mutated flu strain. We'll probably have vaccinations for it next fall.

Its freaking strong it hasnt hit anyone else in my family but still time will tell. Maybe those crafty Iranian ***** who attack us in Iraq created something.

Just remember guys, if you feel the onset of a fever the WORST thing you can do is ignore it. Call in sick, stay in bed, get plenty of water in your system but keep the electrolytes up. If it persists into the day go to the doctor. Make sure you monitor your temperature, if you hit ~100 take a cold bath/shower. At 102 you should be calling the doctor, and higher than that you should be on your way to the emergency room. It always helps to have someone who can check in on you periodically too.

If you don't already you can start taking multi-vitamins now to help curb future sickness.

Last year I got extremely sick and on day one of this fever I blacked out behind the wheel and was sideswiped. (Not in my car) After that I was stuck in bed for two days not being able to do anything just burning up. On the third day I felt 100% better so I decided it was time to go to the doctor. I told him that I was doing good compared to the previous days spent in bed, he nodded his head and told me my temp was 103 degrees. He was shocked that I had drove there, and asked me to please get a ride if I needed to go anywhere.

Moral of the story: If you guys ever feel awful don't push it, could have been a lot worse for me.

yeah I was taking my temp every five minutes praying it didn't any hotter. worst part about it was that I was taking aspirin my parents gave me to try and lower the fever. I was wondering why it wasn't working, but when i looked at the bottle it had expired in may of 03

Had something took me about 4 days to break the fever. My symtoms other than fever were congestion ,sore throte, and coughing. It was a tough one. I ususally don't get sick very much either, but on this turn around I have been on for 18moths and the 1000's of contractors I deal with every day I have been sick 4 times in 18 months seems like **** keeps getting passed around work etc...
