There is a new track coming to crandalle.... however you spell it..
IHRA sanctioned... 1/4 mile track......
www.dallasraceway.com
is the website... I verified by tracking down all the dallasraceway with .com .net .org.
all owned by a guy in crandalle.....
I guess the track was suppose to open 2 or 3 years ago.. but sanctioning issues have held it up and money I guess.... This is what I have learned from a few guys that live right by it... Also people contesting and fighting the track there.. the locals over there.

here are some links that also confirm.. and if you drive out there you will see that they are making some significant progress.... Also they have 2 events scheduled for 2008..
I am happy since its around 20 miles from my house... I live in Rowlett...
woohoo.. cant wait....

Well the whole thread has been centered around drag stripes around the dfw area. I thought the place you posted had a road coarse and dragstrip. But still lets be honest those prices are outrageous.

But groups like NASA-TX, The Driver's Edge and Texas Driving Experience will be "sanctioning" events there and the price becomes ~$300 a weekend and no membership fees.
I've been doing this kind of thing since 1999 when Motorsports Ranch - Cresson opened.
Once I began going to road courses instead of drag strips, I have saved a boat load of cash on torn up cars. Brakes and tires are about the only expense.
Currently, I spend about $1200/yr on tires and $400 on brakes. That yields ~50 twenty minute sessions.

the main reason most people don't build a 1/4mile track in DFW is that they wont be able to get an NHRA event... the main reason to build a large facility is to draw the big names and the big crowds, why try when you can't get those things...
