Default Riding a Harley.....for the first time on a cruise..

Would you or wouldnt you. I havent rode a motorcycle since High School and only for a day or two. My mom's husband has a Harley Classic and a Boss Hoss w/ a 502ci motor. He wants to go on a ride, I am worried about messing up his Harley.... what would you do?? How much practice does one need to ride on the highway?

Just try it, i know THAT is particularly heavy, but it is well ballanced for some reason. Youll have a blast, and if your lucky, you can find some poor hayabusa and show him up.

They are easy to ride, and pretty comfortable. Even my wife has her own Harley.

Just put your feet down when you stop, or you'll look stupid. I've seen it happen, and it does looks stupid.

Highway is easy, its kinda freaky going 70 on a bike if its been awhile. Just don't get stupid.

I don't ride or drive other people's bikes / cars / trucks unless I know I can pay for them. Personal policy.

Aside from that, I'd do it. I hate Harleys but I'm up for testing anything. Plus, you might like it...

I've always been leary riding friend's bikes...I'd be especially worried if a non rider was on mine. Regardless of your experience, you never know what's going to happen....so if you can't pay for any damages that might occur, I wouldn't do it.

I've gone a few of the promotional rides the dealers offer....Harleys are pretty easy to ride and comfortable....if you have previous sportbike experience don't plan on doing any knee dragging

If you have not ridden in a while I would not. Riding a $15K bike and forgetting something and rashing it up is not cool. I have not been on a bike for over ten years I used to have one and I would putt around for a while before I hit a highway.

I just like the noise on Harley. The quality is poor. I don't want a bike I have to rebuilt every 50,000 miles. The rattling will get annoying on long cruises, but some people like it. I don't really mind it now, but I can see it being a nuisance as I got older.

Be careful with and keep the rubber side down.

Just ask him if you guys can put around a little before you take it out too far so you can get comfortable riding again.
