Default coolant on the pass floor!!!!

What could cause it? and how to fix it?

sometimes when I am at a stop I can see smoke coming out of the top of the dash and a strong smell of coolant burning. When I checked the coolant lines I noticed one was unpluggled so I plug it back in but the problem is still there.

The heater core is the source of your leak. The evaporator housing drain is clogged most likely and that is why it is dripping on the floor and not outside the car.

Because we know every nut and bolt on your car I would be happy to take a look at it if you like. I don't charge for diagnosing and could put you a price together for what ever we see.

No worries dude!

you dont have to pull the dash to do the heater core. undo two hoses under hood to heater core, take out the glove box. Pull the heater core cover.(big black plastic cover) pull out heater core. follow steps in reverse. should take less than an hour first time.

On a Fbody the dash has to come out. There is no other way to do it.

didnt mean to insult you bro. i am no mechanic. I just had antifreeze on floorboard. Had no clue how to replace the heater core. I started taking **** off found the core. took it out without removing the dash. it can be done. I do have little hands and arms. maybe that helped. but i assure you can get that thing in an out with out touching the dash(except the glove box) .

Flushing will prevent, not fix. Once leaking ----> too late

No hard feelings. I just didn't want the poor guy trying it in his driveway and winding up with a mess no shop would touch.

If its similar to an LT1, you can bypass the heater core for time time being until you get it fixed or what ever you decide to do.

you can by-pass on any car very easily, just hook the two hose's that lead into it under the hood together....no more leak....no more heat.lol

I went to O'rellys to get a quote on the heater core and it was like $60 so I better replace that POS.

Do yourself a favor. That's a lot of work to place on an ill fitting as they usually do iffy at best aftermarket part. It will cost more but will be cheaper than the labor to do it twice.
