A girl I know is thinking about not going tomorrow. Just curious of the consequences? Also, how much do they get paid... like $6 a day or something?

Its funny that you mention it because I have jury duty on the 11th. What can I do to get out of it?

your in college, you dont need to go. when you get another in the mail (since your not going this time) take it to the courthouse and tell them you are a student and they will say oh ok and let you off the hook

i went once and i was by far the youngest person there. they didnt select me for duty but 3 months later i got another one in the mail and i said fuckit and told them i had class and had an exam that day i couldnt miss

I used to have my boss write me a note saying that the company needed me since I had so many responsibilities.

i didnt read the part where you said it was someone else, oops. and her job has to let her go to a summons or they could face penalties. if she doesnt go she has to pay a fine and have it rescheduled.

It was lost in the mail so you had no clue of the event you were expected to attend..

My Dad got one in the mail one time. Told them he works out of town Monday-Friday (which he does) and said he wasn't going to miss out on $300 a day just to sit in a room and get paid like $6. And it worked...

I moved to a different county to avoid jury duty. I was scheduled to move out on the 30th or so. Jury duty was on the 29th. So I asked my land lady if I could move out on the 28th, got out of it

Forgot to add that my brother has never shown up for jury duty ever and they never say anything. Guess it comes down to the luck of the draw

They have a bunch of things to get out you out of it, my dad had one and it was some dip **** who got a speeding ticket, said he was a vetranarian and his patients needed him so it was ok for him to speed. If I had to waste my time just to hear that, I would have told the judge guilty and recomend the death penalty for wasting my time. In fact just go in there and say some thing kinda crazy, like you follow Islamic law and he should have his hands cut off.
