Exclamation Tranny Mystery?

everything was fine until yesterday.

i went to the bass pro shop to buy some goodies. when i was driving through the parking lot to leave (about 7mph) everything was fine. then i stopped at a stop sign and the car didnt want to move forward after i stepped on the gas, it would just barely creep as i revved it so i coasted to a empty parking spot.

every gear is like neutral, even reverse. i let it sit for an hour or so and i tried it again. it was the same thing it drove fine for about 50ft then nothing (it felt like the converter was trying to grap but wouldnt)

so if any of you transmission guru's could give me any ideas that would be great, go you think the pump may be shot? and the thing is i just installed a 3800 vig stall, i went to test drive it, then THIS is what happened!

you got a stall bro, give it more gas j/k

I remember there being a small pin that was easy to lose. did you twist the verter on all the way when you installed it? the install is pretty straight forward, hopefully it's not not something internal which it sounds like

sounds like not enough fluid in the tranny, maybe not properly installed or like he said your not giving it enough gas. with that large of a stall you should probably hit around 2600rpm before you begin to move

Did you get it tuned?

Check the codes.

It MAY read "shift solenoid B Stuck on"

If it does, you need to tune that biatch because the pcm is trying to save the tranny thinking it's slipping. So it throws it in limp mode.

Hopefully that's what it is. Good luck!

If there was an electrical problem throwing a code the trans would default into third gear but will still have reverse, since you say it feels like its slipping in reverse its probably not an electrical problem. Ive seen mis-adjusted shift linkage causing flares when coming to a stop, you might want to check that. Other than that I would say you have a pump and or converter problem. Is the fluid burnt?

Sounds like you said it will move after it sits a while? The transmissions was just rebuilt and a new converter, and only 1 block before it stopped?

If the car will move after it sits a while and then nothing, that is usually a stopped up filter. If you let it sit a while the debris will settle and allow the vehicle to move a little till it stops up again. If this is the case, not good at all. If you have enough debris stopping up the filter, major failure.

Where are you located, in Houston by chance??

I turned off the car and would not go into ANY gear NONE at all. But i will for sure check the codes, and the pump if you have any other suggestions keep em coming! THANKS alot guys really

Drain it and check the fluid.
