problems after converter installed

well i got my yank converter installed a few weeks ago and i noticed that the car's rpm surge at idle. its idles erratically when in drive.

i have a b&m cooler on it. and the car has a tune from a buddy of mine. who's pretty good with the software.

the converter was also installed by some1 who has done the install many times so im not sure what it could be.

any ideas?

recheck tune, check fluids, etc. first

what size conv?

3600 yank but it had some work on it from circle D

i would definatly check the tune. may not be the converter

that may be it. the car idles wierd and turns off every now and then. then i have to put it in park and restart it

Have your tuned modified for the new converter stall. If it was near stock stall speed previously and you went loose then the PCM is trying to compensate for the lack of engine loading... meaning the RPM's are too high at idle now compared to the other converter.

If it is a '98 or '99 it is a classic condition.

its all in the tune homie. i wouldnt sweat it anymore until you have your tuner look at it

get a tune, i did with mine, it hit the rev limiter, and also the rpms surged while at low rpms.

ratchet head and the guys at xtreme tuned it for me and it hasnt hit the limiter since.
