need a/c help!
need a/c help! my a/c was slowly losing its "coldness" and now blows hot. I do not think I have a leak since I haven't EVER messed with my a/c since I bought the car 4 years ago and I think its just out of refrigerant. I was told to add r-134 to the low pressure side but where the hell is that? I know the high side is on the accumulator but again, where do I add to the low side?
Well, if you're losing the freon, you have a leak somewhere. The low side port is the only one that the freon hose will fit if you bought it from vatozone or crackmart.

well my a/c gradually started blowing wamer over a couple months and now it just blows hot.. isn't it possible that it's just "out" of refrigerant? and if so, where do I hook the hose up to to refill it? where is the "low" side??
If I remember right, its on the clyinder thing by the PCM...that is the low side, I ---THINK---
The hose won't fit on it if its not the low side. If youre out of freon, there is a leak somewhere. buy the dye kit from Vatozone for twenty bucks and find the leak

may have to jump your compressor so it can take the freon. if its low the press switch will not let the compressor turn on. just did this with mine after the shrader valve let the freon out slowly.
i know absolutely jack **** about a/c's.. how do i jump the compressor??

pop the relay center cover . look for the compressor relay. take out the relay jump b1 to b4 and it will kick on. if you dont trust yourself with this . go buy the freon refill from wal-mart wih the gauge on it. like 27$ bring it by and ill install it for you. not hard to do.
Easier than that:
Remove the plug on the round thing I was talking about earlier. Use a wire and place it in the holes touching them together. (jumping)
it might take the freon, it depends on how low it is.
Its probably going to be your compressor leaking the refrig. I had a slow leak on my chevy truck and I changed the lines even though i couldn't find a leak in one of the then I finally found oil and refrig. seeping out of the bottom of the compressor case.
The a/c compressor will kick on when it has enough freon. Trying to start the compressor will only cause damage. The reason for low pressure switch is so it does not damage the compressor. It will take freon no matter what. Just turn the can over and dump it in. Truthfully if it is low on freon you need to find the leak and fix that first. Then have someone pull a vacuum on the system to make sure there is no other leaks and that all contaminents are out of the system. Then charge it properly.
