help p0355 for the 2nd time in a month
help p0355 for the 2nd time in a month aight guys a few weeks ago I took my car to get it scan at autozone and it came up with missfiring and one of the codes was p0355 so I had to change the plugs and wires since I had just bought the car and also had to replace ignition coil #5.
well now again yesterday i got the SES light and i took it again to get it scanned and it gave me the same code p0355.
so yesterday we checked the wire that goes to ignition coil #5 and its sparking.
after that the code was no longer there and the car was running fine.
but then it started again.
what can be other causes for p0355 to be coming up on my car?
I dont think its the coil since I just changed it less than a month ago.

I know this thread is a year old, but was doing a search and wanted to know if the OP had figured out what the problem was? I have P0355 and P0357 and I have spark as well. I have checked all the wires going to the coil packs and they are fine too. I think that if it were any of the wires (I don't know the right name, its the pack of wires on the middle of the head that have the colorful wires feeding to the coil packs) it would cause codes on all 4 cylinders. Just one is weird. Because of both of my 5 and 7 cylinders are going out, a friend and good technician I know thinks it could be the PCM for me.
Just curious if you found your answer because I'm still searching for mine.

that wasnt locked and cause it to give me the code and missfire.
first try changing the coil with another one and if that doesnt work check the wires.

Thanks for the reply. I think mine is beyond the coils because I have both P0355 and P0357. According to the code, both coil packs went out simultaneously. I think mine has to be the PCM not giving those two enough spark...my only reason for suspicion of this is because in the PCM, the #5 and #7 coils seem to be on different outward controls than #1 and #3, and if I had a faulty wiring harness, all 4 cylinders would be out. If I only had one code, then it could be like your situation was. As you can see, I'm just a whole mess of confused with it.
Regardless, thank you for the reply. I did go out and make sure all my connections were snug and snapped into place.
