Electreonic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Anyone have pics of what this part looks like? I need to replace mine and I cant find any pictures of it for reference. Can anyone take a photo of where it is located on an SS?
I went by Chevrolet here in Houston and they do not have a photo in their database. I have not had an opportunity to take the SS to the dealership (I drive a malibu as the daily)

Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)
Location - Mounted with brake pressure modulator valve on the top of the left front frame rail
In the attached diagram, the EBCM is #2.
Description of what the EBCM does:

The EBCM/EBTCM performs the following primary functions:
Detects wheel slip tendencies
Detects wheel speed differences
Controls the brake system while in the antilock or traction control mode
Controls the Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

The EBCM/EBTCM also controls the display of the ABS and traction control DTCs while in diagnostic mode. The EBCM/EBTCM continuously checks the speed of each wheel in order to determine if any wheel is beginning to slip. If a wheel slip tendency is detected, the EBCM/EBTCM commands the appropriate valve positions to modulate the brake fluid pressure in some or all of the hydraulic circuits. This action prevents wheel slip and provides optimum braking. The EBCM/EBTCM continues to control pressure in the individual hydraulic circuits until a slipping tendency is no longer present. The EBCM/EBTCM continuously monitors the ABS/TCS for proper operation. If an error is detected, the EBCM/EBTCM can disable the ABS/TCS and turn on the ABS or TCS OFF Indicators in the IPC.

? Thats the ABS block, You sure its not the BCM (body control module) that controls the abs, air bags, and everything not controlled by the pcm thats located under the center console?
Is this on a vette if so your best bet would be to do a search on corvette forum. I am having problems with mine and it is quite pricey to fix. I have heard good things about this guy called the abs doctor or something along those lines. He will fix your old unit and send it back to for like $150 or so compared to like a $1000 at the dealership.
what is you car doing why you took it to the dealer ship? Was you tc off light coming on with the brake light and abs inop light also? Thats what mine has been doing. Some times the lights come on right when you turn the key on and some times you can drive it for 20-30 minutes before the light pop on. Some time they don't come on at all. I am tring to find out whats wrong with mine also.

I am tring to find out whats wrong with mine also.
Im riding dirty, I havent been able to get my car inspected for over a year now (She sits in the garrage) I take her out at least once every 2 weeks around the block.

BigSteele is correct there is a BCM and an EBCM. My issues is the EBCM that is why im trying to verify what the part looks like. when I called the dealership they thought I asked for the BCM...I had to correct them.

WoW! thanks for posting about this issue. My Camaro Z28 2000 5.7L V8 has also been having the some problems. I've been getting the following lights popping-up on my dashboard as follows.... ASR off, Break and ABS Nop.
I had just breaks pull the ABS reading for me and here's what the codes translated.
C0896 - Device Performance range voltage
C0550 - EBCM
Is the picture listed an EBCM for my camaro? If so GM said that only 99-02 will work not anything later.
I also found the link where you can buy an EBCM here > http://www.ebcmdirect.com/products/C..._14494_rnr.htm
Does anyone know if the one being sold on the websites comes with electronic traction control?
