Exclamation Really need to buy special ride rack and pinion

I need a special ride rack and pinion for a 99 trans am.. It is different from normal racks because the spindle at the top where the steering linkage goes on is closer to the rack at like a 45 degree angle instead of a 80ish.If you could please help me out ASAP I would greatly appreciate it!!!

You might be in the same ordeal I was with my old TA. None of the ones from the parts store had one that fitted. I ended up getting a used low mileage one from a scrap yard for cheap.

Luckily, I knew/still know that person down here, and I got it for a steal at $50! AZ, NAPA, O'Reillys wanted $140-190 for theirs back then I believe. Still don't know why theirs didn't work with mine to this day (I had the 80 degree where it should of been 45 degree like you did type deal).

Wow it's pretty rare to have the firm ride rack from what I understand. Anyways it actually lists for less than the regular rack as far as I know and Oreilly's should have no problem getting you one. I need a rack as well since mine is basically shot at 121k...lol.

No man. The normal racks are the expensive ones but I have no idea why. They cost about $100 more for the ******* normal rack!

Pepboys huh? That's one place I never even thought of! Well, glad you got a new one for what you were willing to pay for the used one.

When you say your rack was going out, were you losing a insane amount of p/s fluid? If so, I was too!
