I don't know the percentage but the B&M is only a little shorter than the factory Hurst. The plus is in the more precise feel and the 2-3 shift is much easier to hit. I like my B&M far better than the Hurst it replaced. If you want a lot shorter though, some like the Hurst with a short stick.

I just installed a Pro 5.0 and I like it. Im not sure what everyone is talking about when they mentioned noise because I have none. Also, I can feel the difference. Here it is visually:
