Needing some help in trying to get a title for my 68 camaro? Anyone know any good sites to go to? Or does anyone know how to go about filing for a lost title?

Its easy if the car is registered in your name or you know the person it was registered to. Just fill out a form, pay the fee and they mail you a copy of the title. if it wasn't in your name, its more difficult and you will have to hire someone to do it for you. There are some title companies around Houston that will do it for you but I don't know what they charge. I see them advertising on Craigslist pretty often.
FYI....I'm from Victoria also....just moved away about 2 years ago though.

For a bonded title:

Lost title papers (unknown owner): If you are in possession of a vehicle and all logical methods have failed to find either its paperwork or its previous owner, you may apply for a bonded title. This is a title that requires that you purchase a bond to potentially reimburse a legitimate owner if and when he or she shows up to claim the vehicle. In this situation, you will also have to fill out the Statement of Fact supplement (Form 130-SOF) in addition to the title application (Form 130-U). After three years of holding a bonded title, a regular title can then be issued to you.

Forms here:

Broadway title dot com advertises the ability to handle lost titles with certain restrictions. I think there are others, also. Google to the rescue, again.

If its in your name go to your regional resgriation office and pay them 6 dollars and they will print it on the spot.

If its not in your name dont waste your time or money with a bonded title its trash. Use a title service like broadway ( I have used them it takes 3 months ) or its-titles ( used them also they took 10 days ). The prices were about 150 for each one.
