Default The search is about to be on!!!

In the next few months I will be looking for my 1st vette. Preferably an 07 or 08 depending on price. I would like to have the 08 for the ls3 though. The tundra is about to be paid off and the girly got a badass nursing job. Will prolly be looking for a white one with black interior although I do like the white with red interior. What major options should I be looking for. Dont really want nav but I know there are many diff packages. Let me know whats good and whats bad. Would love to pick up a z06 but just buying my 1st house its not in the budget

Keep an eye on Corvetteforum, I see good deals on used C6's there all the time.

If you are considering an '07, might as well consider an '05-06 too. Hardly any difference.

Get the '08 if you can afford it. The LS3 is worth it. 6-spd manual is a stronger tranny than the automatic, and automatic Corvettes are for women.

It all depends on what you plan on doing. Z51 has sportier ride with a littler stiffer shocks/springs and thicker sway bars and a little different of a shift ratio. Has an external oil cooler and a few other littler add ons. I am not too sure on the 08's, but with my 06', I just went with the 2lt mn6 base model. 2lt has the side air bags, cargo net/hatch cover, and the seats are nicer. Main reason I went with it was the air bags and seats. I didn't go with the Z51 because I wanted to do coil overs and a larger capacity radiator with integrated oil cooler.

If you plan on highly modding your car(larger displacement forged engine, blower, etc.), I would save the money and buy an 06'. If you're going to leave it stock or do just basic bolt on's, I'd go with the LS3. They are taking very well to light mods and hp gains are excellent.

Like Tony said, corvetteforum has good deals on used Vettes all the time. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a pm. Good luck with the purchase!!

Thanks guys. Will def be getting a 6-speed. I will probably only be doing little mods here and there. Probably the most extensive thing would be headers. What power are the ls3's making with intake, headers, tune? Are they 11 sec rides? But the 1st priority will be rims!

The LS2 cars are averaging 12.3-12.4 stock. The LS3 cars are in the 11.9-12.1 range stock. The LS3 heads are MUCH better, they are similar to LS7 heads.

The last body style lasted 8 years. The insiders say 2012-2013. They will continue to refine the interior, add gadgets, change wheels, and maybe another horsepower bump and maybe incorporate the LS9 down the road(2010-2011) to roll into the C7. Design change is least of your worries. You can pretty much mimic all the other upgrades on down the road. You can always make the LS2 faster than the LS3 faster than the LS9 ZR1...etc, etc. I would just look at something in your price range and roll with it!!
