Need some help...
the vehicle : 2001 Chevy 1500 ext. cab 7inch lift and 35s ....with the 5.3
the truck is my daily, so the setup has to be super ****** reliable, i dont give a **** about gas and if it gets gallons to the mile
I want to make 500-600 hp.....at the wheels....(if it made more then awesome...more is always better..right? )
my first plan is to run my whipple s/c and build a 408.....but im afraid the whipple will choke/ starve the 408....thoughts?
or... sell my whipple and go to a procharger/ vortech setup with the 408.....
or sell the whipple and doing it all motor.....
and the list goes on what i could do.....
as far as money goes....id like to keep it under 10k thats with a built tranny and rear end....
thanks
Mike
your best bet is going 408 all motor, built 4l80, and a 3/4 ton rear swap. i honestly think you are going to have to drop more than 10k for what you want. the 408 might get about 500 to the wheels depending on valvetrain setup. goodluck.
