Moby Dick is running again.
Well, I finally got him running again and forgot how much I loved this car when I got it about 10 years ago. I got it when he had around 53K miles on it and it's registering only 59k now. All the sudden the odometer stopped working as well as the electronic trunk release (wont go down), but a little clean up here and a little there made me realize that I should be driving this out every weekend. I did this walk around because somebody here wants to buy it but right now I'm getting pre seller remorse. I know it has a little exhaust leak but that's an easy fix. I even forgot this thing had an aftermarket cam until I started it up again. Internet bonus points to the first person to post how rare this car is (How many made, how many were hard-tops and out of those how many were leather).
It has it's rough spots that need to be completed, taken care of etc, but if I can get this in top shape, it'll be something more than enough to be proud of.

That's my delima. I was silently selling it for $14k unadvertised for years but somebody msg'ed me an offer for $10k and I almost jumped on it. Negotiations are still in the works but I'm pre-kicking myself in the a$$ just thinking about parting with this. Nobody understands the rarity of these cars especially being a hard-top but for a handful.
When I brought it to the 2920 meet last Friday, I felt so guilty like I was taking one of my kids for a last ice cream treat before sending him off to adoption!

That's my dilema right now. Someone offered me cash money for it, is willing to fly all the way down here and pick it up. With that money he even got me "head hard on'ed" about buying an STS turbo for my WS6. You can't imagine for the last 3 or 4 days now my mind wandering back and forth, keep it, sell it, keep it, sell it and upgrade WS6, keep it, finish project etc.

Beautiful turbo t/a! I've always wanted one, but never have the cash.
I'm not sure on the Production numbers but I know they are extremly rare.
I'd keep the car but if you gonna sell it, hold up for a little while if the economy even comes back that car is worth way more that 10k.

That feels very comforting coming from a guy that has a set up similar. Hope to see you at the meet this Friday, I'll be looking for ya so we can park the "cousins" next to each other.
I think they're as rare as a GNX (I'm a little naive on the production number of a GNX as well but do know they are very rare too).

I'll side with you on that vote. I did a search (gasp! I actually used this thing!) on STS and it seemed like a 50 50 toss up between the people that had good experiences with it and bad. I think I'd probably be better off with an under the hood turbo. Maybe I should sell the WS6 and fix the TTA up except I would not want a car like that as a daily driver.

I wouldnt sell the car, the restoration parts industry has really come a long way and it wouldnt take much to make that car back to near perfect. Whats great about that car is, it still has low miles to where it has value, but its not super low mile like sub 5K like many TTAs where if you modded it, you would hurt the value. The car looks really clean, just looks like it needs some TLC like any 19 year old car would.
