I worry that with a 300 hp v6 as being the lowest model availible, that all the sixteen year old boys and girls that want one only for the appearance or the name will not be able to afford it now. That may end up costing them big on sales numbers which might severely limit the production run. I know everyone wants to see the base model be something that can atleast challenge every other base model but this is going to be the bulk of their sales, and it may end up costing them. Plus, is anyone on this forum really considering buying a v6?

but can you order one w/o all the gadgets? 1LE-ish? its bad enough they have halo headlights and the rear of a saggy 60yr old in a bikini but do they really need to force me to choose between onstar and active stability as what will probably be the only 2 options? if i wanted a car to drive itself i'd get a GTR. the camaro is supposed to be about cheap power. this is not going to fall into that category.

If I bought a 5th gen, it would be a V6 DD.

I think GM is looking to move 80,000 units just to break even in the Camaro's first year of production, the car could be axed if this goal is not met. I also understand the Z28 was to be the top of the line model with a blower est. at 500 to 550 hp. Supposedly GM axed this model just last week due to the increasing pressures from the economy, price per barrel, and political correctness.

The political part comes from the EPA putting the pressure on car makers to end the horse power war, bunch of ****

I like the Cyber Gray, but the car is too big. I looked at a new Challenger the other day at the dealer and I'd imagine it will be similar in size. Same thing with the 05+ Mustangs, they are sports cars, not supposed to be that big.

I'll stick with my 4th gen. That Imperial Blue is pretty sick too.

i would rather have a v6 than no car at all, i think the v6 camaro makes just as much or close to the current v8 gt mustang, now the fords are gonna need a blower again just to beat the v6 this time around

Thats why I wouldn't get another 4th gen, minus the motor, it's buying the same car over gain that I have had for the past 8 years. Time for some change

Having the V6 as powerfull as the V8 mustang will be a good thing. It will mean every High School boy and girl will want one. That will mean they will make the numbers they need to be able to keep making the car.

I see it as a more positive then negative.

And the weight is to meet crash test standards. With weight comes lower fuel economy ... and the cycle begins once again.
