Diesel Guys inside need help!!!
Pulled the head off to reveal no head damage visible, no piston damage visible. So i call some diesel techs i know, they come over and see that the piston walls are Dusted. From what i understand its like sandblasting your cylinder walls, very shiny, cross hatches still visible but very shiny. Rings are prolly shot too but won't know till i get them out and wont do that till i have the rebuild kit. Sooo i work in brick sales which requires me to drive on constuction sites all day and our brick yard is like a sandbowl mixed with mortar mix and concrete. Has anybody else run into this problem? Which filter should i go back with, cuz stock ain't cuttin it? Sorry for the long post, trying to head off any obvious questions
Thanks
Josh
Check for leaks around the intake tube past the filter, like cracks in the intake tube couplers and tubes themselves. Maybe the seal around the top of the filter to the airbox. It sounds like your engine is taking in unfiltered air.
