There is either an o-ring or a gasket that goes in there. And yes...you have to put a vacuum pump on there and draw a vacuum on the system before you put freon in.

Input appreciated txturbo, what our concern was if that gap was too big to seat/butt the pieces together to enclose that o-ring because we did not want a leak.

I usually sleep until arround 4pm. What all did you guys do to the a/c? You will probly have to add an oil charge also unless you changed the whole system then you wold have to add oil to the compresor, dryer, condensor and so forth. if you just changed a line I would add an oil charge to replace any oil that could have leaked out.

Damn, I didn't think all of that was involved in changing a line. Want to play A/C mechanic for a fee today? .

Just as my car, I'm a slow mover as well. I tried to hold out but the heat got to me. I think I need a skin graft for the back of my leg from the seat now.

I tried to get rid of the 1968 but it's against the rules to ask a mod for a 'name change'. So I got another email account and changed to the other one you saw a glimpse of. I got messaged by a nice mod and explained what happened and he said that he would be glad to get rid of the 1968 for me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It was going to be only $70 but Easton offered to do it for me for free (I've hooked him up on things at my place so it's a good trade off) but I didn't know one had to vacuum this, suck that out, oil this and that until I just made this thread, live and learn I do.

It's not nice to call people derogatory names. He said he doesn't wake up until about 4 pm. And answer your damn phone, it's off or something (or are you getting na$ty?)
