Maybe but I wonder how much damage he sustained besides the burned skin. He's probably dumb enough to finish himself off somehow.

Even a complete idiot would have to be unexplainably high to try to steal copper from a live pole :O

Is this something that happens alot? I've seen like 3 cases of this over the last 2 weeks.

I didnt even know copper was that valuable.

Ha, he was stealing from a pole on Regal Row. That's an industrial street and I wouldn't be surprised if the recycling company he used was in that neighborhood also. I picture him going upto the fence and them telling him "We're closed because we lost power." And he's standing there trying to sell them their power lines.
