OP have you tried Monster.com and such? They update you daily on new jobs available by just giving your email address.

ya, we've been trying on there for a couple months. she applied for about 3 more jobs today on there

Energy industry is a good place to work even if it is looking for entry level type work. People can move up after proving themselves. There are plenty downtown as well as a bunch in Katy in the energy corridor if that is a better location
