Default Corvette shopping

I've been looking for a good deal on a C6 in the Houston area for the past 6 months. So far the dealerships are still asking around $48-55 K for a 2008. Does anyone know a dealership that will sell a Vette near invoice? I know that's a lot to ask for a premium sports car, but you never know.

Try Champions, down off of Beltway 8/45 South. I was going to order mine from them, but ended up buying one off the lot at another dealship. They have a Corvette specialist there and I am pretty sure they will sell at/or below invoice. If not, try Corvetteforum.com, the dealers on that website are literally giving Vettes away!

Huffines Chevy in Plano, TX.

Don't limit yourself to just the Houston area crooks. Shop in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas/Ft Worth too.

Right now you can get a vette for GM employee price. Thats as cheap as you can humanly get one. If that program wasnt running right now, you could drive to every Chevy dealer in the country and still not get close to the GMS price. GMS is GMS, and its the same everywhere.

Ive got several that are 1LT's with the addition of the auto and chrome wheels that would run you in the 43's +ttl at GMS pricing.

If you wanted just a standard 1LT with 6spd manual and satin finish aluminum wheels, then you'd probably be in the 41's.

Sure. You are able to get supplier pricing, which is probably at or slightly below invoice. But if youd like to be waaay below invoice, holdback, everything, then use the GM employee pricing.

I cant say this enough. The cheapest you can buy a car new, is GM employee pricing (GMS). You really are paying what I would pay for it. We couldnt sell the car that cheap if you werent 1-qualified for GM employee pricing, or 2-GM wasnt running the offer at the time. GM reimburses us a percentage. But the way the program works is, if the selling price of the car isnt exactly what GM has listed as GMS, then we dont get reimbursed. So we cant sell it for more, and we cant sell it for less.

Yall can and some dealerships do. Your dealership just doesn't want to lose the reimbursement.

If we dont get reimbursed, we lose money. GMS is lower than what we pay for it. Now, someone might fake an invoice and show someone GMS that really isnt, but we dont do that. Lots of games dealers can play.

We consistently come in #5-#8 in the nation in volume. If there was a car deal to be made below GMS, we'd make it. But we wont, and we will let you walk. And Ive sold several cars at triple net (all the holdback and more). But thats as deep as it gets and GMS is quite a bit further behind that.

And if anyone wants to know what GMS is on a car, they can build it here, and at the end search local dealer inventory ( zip code 77065 for my dealer btw), and it will show you all the same model of car instock at that dealer and what sticker and GMS is for each vehicle. That way you know exactly what the price is.

It is. You cant do better. Unless of course they require you to buy a bunch of products in the back before they will roll the deal. I do this for a living. I know what is and isnt doable. Keep in mind that I dont make commission. I get paid per car, so I dont give a **** whether you buy an Aveo or a Vette, as long as you buy. If there was a better deal to be had, Id give it to someone.

I buy new cars all the damn time, and I can tell you Lone Star is a great Chevy dealer.

In fact, I bought a loaded TBSS there in 2/07. I also sold it there in 2/08 and got an 08 Avalanche.

Mind ur business on why I bought an Avalanche!

Anyway, Lone Star kicks butt. Their sales manager will do the deal no one else will.

I usually use GM Supplier, Rebates + GM Card Earnings "top off". Which in theory you are not supposed to be able to do per 80% of the dealers out there.

GMS is about the same as that, so you guys get out and buy.

P.S. After work yesterday I went to Mac Haik Chevy (it's across the highway from my job) and looked at a 2008 Z06 3LZ fully loaded - MSRP 82k.....GMS was 70.5k. I am still digesting the trade in offer on my 07 3LT coupe though.
