Default sPARK plUG help!!

Hey guys have a blk 02 ws6 Changing my plug wires to some 9mm wires with some ngk iridium tr55ix. Anyway the first four on driver side were easy to change. The other four on the passenger side, Not so easy. Got the first two (barely) and then theres the back two. From the top of the car to being underneath it I can not get to those last two. May sound stupid but, How the hell can I get to those back two wires!?

lol, my first time took me a hour and a half for that side, i was cut up and crying like a little girl but i managed. now i can do both sides in 10 mins.

if your looking to do just the wires just man up and pull them off, plug though i found it easier to go from underneath the car, even taking off the starter can help get all four (not required but easier)

You seriously just have to get mean with it. Don't lose it though be sure you grab at the base as far towards the plug as you can. Wiggle like hell and apply large amounts of pull against the plug wire and they will eventually pop.

is your engine bay still pretty stock? if so, you need to disconnect the smog (AIR) line from the exhaust manifold to get to the 3rd plug on that side (#6). just two bolts and you can move it out of the way. the 4th plug (#8), is easiest to get from under the car.

first time i did plugs on my stock LS1, it took me about 1.5 hours. now, with headers, i can do it in under 45 mins, including the time to check the gap on the plugs and put anti-seize on them.

That's exactly how I do them. Remove the AIR line, and do #8 from below.

I always just take the passenger side valve cover off. It may take a little longer, but you don't have to get under the car, don't have to kill your arm, can see what you're doing, won't cross-thread the plug, etc.

You can also do a good inspection of your valvetrain.

I usually take the coil packs off to get a little more room.

I don't understand what is so hard about changing the plugs. When I was about to change mine for the first time I was expecting it to be a pain in the *** because of tons of threads I have seen saying the same thing as this.... probably took me thirty minutes the first time I did it and I really didn't think it was bad at all.....just man up and do it. If you have to lay on your back and twist you left arm in ways you didnt know were possible then so be it.

It's not. I just remove the one metal AIR line and take 5 extra minutes to jack up the car, place a jackstand under the subframe, and do #8 from beneath. Unless you are wearing mechanic's gloves, you will get some scrapes on your hands but I'd rather get some little scratches than remove coil packs or valve covers or any of that.

I put a little dab of dielectric grease on each plug wire tip and recommend that for everyone.

Jacking the car up? **** - takes me 2-3 minutes to remove a coil pack. Once the coil pack is removed, changing plugs is simple. No scrapes, nothing. Stop being a bunch of pansies!!

LOL....

I got the giggles reading this. Obviously nobody here has changed plugs on a 3.8 S/C in a W-body. Yeah, removing the front dogbone helps......a little. Then you discovered some idiot from GM decided to place an oxygen sensor right in front of a spark plug....

on the new impala you have to remove the fender (slightly) to get the battery out lol... same with BMWs battery being under the seat, and needing a special tool to get the seat off. who the hell comes up with this bs lol.
