Need Help Troubleshooting.... I have a 2 cylinder Onan 6.5 Genset Generator that powers my house when the electricity is out. Anyway, this thing is just like a car engine...runs off a battery, has a coil, starter, etc...it has not been started in about three years probably.
I put new plugs in it and has a good battery hooked to it, but will not turn over. It will try a very weak turnover and then just clicks like you would see when a battery is dead. The battery has full charge and know that is not the problem and has all new wires running to it.
My first thought was coil, but do not think it will do anything if the coil is bad...then started thinking starter...thoughts?

starter is a good place to start...did you try just jumping it over at the starter and see what happens??....poss that the brushes got gummed up and just need to be cleaned a bit...could also be a relay going bad...idk man
