Default Who here goes to San Antonio Raceway?

I use to go but haven't been in years. I'm thinking about taking my '98 out to see what it does stock before I start modifying it. Is Wednesday still the best night to go? Is it still best to get there right when they open to get plenty of runs in?

wednesday is when the ricers show up. Fridays is better. Saturdays/Sundays are packed. Traction isn't the best. Besides rinsing out the water box, and the ocassional cleanup on the track, prep isn't hot. Good luck (btw, I've made about 90 passes there)

I've read about the traction and prep problems but that isn't a problem since I'd probably crap myself if I even got it into the 13s.

Ugh, ricers have taken over my formerly beloved Wednesdays. Fridays use to be so packed I'd wait in line for hours just to run. As much as I hate rice, I want to go whenever I can get the most chances to run.

What time do they open?

I think it's 6: for the gates and 6:30 for the lanes. I think the pendulum has swung and everyone likes Biffs and such on Fridays, which makes the track easier access

IDK I go to the track mainly on midnight madness or special events. Occasionally I go on a test and tune, but I havent had any trouble with traction. Heck they race the alcohol funny cars there and the 10.5 class. I dont know, maybe they dont prep it on test and tune days, but all other days have been fine for me. Anyways, yeah hit it up on wednesday or at the end of the night on friday's or saterdays. Everyone by that time is pretty much done racing and you can go back to back to back! $.02

Good to hear. I might head out this Friday.

By the way, why does it STILL say I only have 2 posts? It's not like I have a lot of posts, but I did start 2 new threads just today, and I responded in both. Heck I had 2 posts my first 10 minutes.

Post count is only affected by posts in tech related threads. Like Internal Sections, not the Kill section or regional sections. It confused the shiz outta me too, lol.

I don't go there much, but I went 2 fridays ago, and got there right around 645. I got to run back to back like 3 times when I got there, it wasn't very crowded at all. It seemed like most of the cars came as soon as it got dark (probably left after work, or just wanted the cool air). But it still wasn't very crowded at all, only had to wait in the staging lanes for maybe 10 minutes? I live in Austin, so I go there maybe once every new mod, but that's my recent experience. I love going there though, it's a nice track with some nice cars every time I go.
