do i need this to instal my balencer i have my own angler from snap on that will work too right

Hey man i was reading your post about the H/balancer tool i mu self am have installed one and have that same issue. I was wondering did you need it? Because the SLP paper they sent with mine tells me i need one.

If you have the angle meter by all means use it. You can get away without it
The main thing is to position the dampner on far enough before you start the torque procedure. If you use a ARP balancer bolt you will make life alot easier.

Hawk, I considered using the ARP balancer bolt vs. a new GM bolt but the cost difference is hard to justify, especially when everyone says the OEM bolt is sufficient. Now you've got me curious again, what is it about the ARP bolt that makes life easier?

It's reuseable vs the Oem
One step torque process, put it in and torque it down. No degree requirement.


Your point well taken. I just felt it was a cost I would recover
with time spent on future mods. And chasing down a new balancer
bolt.
