Default Aluminum jacks @ Harbor Freight

They're having a pretty good sale right now... They have a 3000lb. aluminum jack for $89.99, and free shipping to boot. I ordered one last night since it will be much easier to haul that back and forth from the track.

Here's a link... http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=91039

I'd be interested in knowing what you think about it once you get it.

They are slightly different, one jacks up a little higher and one sits a tad lower. The more expensive one jacks up quicker, depends on which one suits you better.

Achtung! Take a look at the handle lengths! One is 2 feet ($99), and one is 4 feet ($129).
Still, a nice deal for $99, and who can fit a 4 foot pole in their car anyway (i.e. vette, miata)

I noticed the short handle too... That seems really really short, IMHO. If indeed it truely is 24" (I hope it's some kind of screw up), that's gonna suck!

I bought one from harbor freight, not sure the number but I can go look if anyone is interested. I don't like it. It takes almost a full swing on the handle to get it to lift. What this means is if I put it under the K member or rear end I cannot move the handle enough to get it to lift the car. It's only good if your lifting one side and can get a full swing on the handle.

Did you bleed the air out of it? Mine has a special fitting for automatically bleeding the air. And it jacks the car up quick. It's actually a bit hard to jack the car up. In order to jack up half of the car (by jacking it up under the SFC) I have to put my full weight on it in order to get it to move.

I'll have to check into that. I didn't see a bleader valve but it would be great if that fixed it.

Maybe one day Harbor Freight will actually ship the thing to me...

I received an order confirmation in the mail, but they haven't even charged my credit card yet. Good thing I'm in no hurry right now.

after using REAL racing jacks.....I was not impressed.....too long of a throw to get it to lift and TOO many pumps to get it up ( er, that doesn't sound right )........They are OK for light shop use but useless in a hot-pit situation..............

Mine acted goofy too, but then I bled it.

I've had it for over a year and it works great

I bought the 3 ton jack from Harbor Bay for like 50 bucks on sale, but it weighs 113 pounds I think. Sucks taking it back and forth to the track...

Pep Boys has two different aluminum jacks on sale right now -- a race jack (single pump) and a regular shop jack (multi-pump). The race jack is $150 -- the shop jack is $80.

I have one of the jacks. I like it because it is only 35lbs and easy to move around.
