Electricity Problems

Hey guys I have a problem I live in an older house and we are tapped out on electricity and can not get another unit unless we pay 3000 to the city and we are not going to do that till we build a shop which will be this summer. I am going to buy a tig welder but would it be possible to use an extension off of my dryer to the welder to make it work for awhile ? I have alot of projects I need to get done so would this work ?

Typically a dryer is on a 220V 30A circuit, so as long as the welder isn't rated over that you'll be okay. Just make up an adapter cable and keep it as short as possible.

I use my arc welder with a 100 ft cord all the time.
