Compressor question...
How often does everyone drain their compressors? I dont use mine much because i drain it every time. Its annoying to wait for it to build up all the way from 0 PSI. Is it dangerous to leave air in it? My garage is kind of wet, everytime I open the drain valve on the bottom it sprays out a little water.
There's no reason to drain it after every use. I have an electric ejection valve on mine. It cycles @ preset intervals and has a eject time setting on it. Got it from SCAT. Not expensive.
Mine leaks some, so it's "automatically" emptied after it sits for about 8 hrs...[I kill the power to it when I leave the shop]

Go to harbor freight and get part number 68244. It hooks up to you air compressor were the petcock goes and automatically drains it when your compressor starts or turns off. Its only $10 and you'll never have to do anything. Hope this helps everyone.
The way it works is it releases air from a valve whenever the compressor turns on or off while its running. Releasing small amounts of air throughout its operating time. It doesn't completely drain it, just small amounts to keep it water free throughout operation.
