Looking for set of reverse pliers

Looking for set of reverse pliers Title says it. Looked online but most of what I found was reverse pliers for jewelry and such, these were small fragile pliers, too small for my purposes and to fragile to last. Anyway I'm hoping to get a set of reverse pliers of different sizes. These would be for a variety of uses, working on the car, around the house etc... (one specific use I can think of off of the top of my head is changing the filter on an A4, the metal ring that holds in the filter is a PITA). Anyone have any recommendations on a set or where to look? TIA.
I don't know the filter ring of which you're talking but on T56 and TR6060 square cut lock rings that retain synchros in place, a good pair is needed so I think I know what you mean.
You might start out with the Matco TP48R. They will open some fat rings but on cheaper versions (read: Craftsman,) the stamped design flexes and walks around some on rings that are caught on a machined groove.
If you outgrow those, step up to something like the Mac TP602R. I think I have hte Matco version of those. Their faces are smooth but they don't flex or slip or screw around like the stamped types ones but they don't fit into the narrowest of places either.

I bought a set of Channel Locks on a whim because I broke my old trusty set. They've been awesome, a bit bulky, but with a quick flick of the thumb they reverse and they're stout as hell. Home Depot carries a similar set also I think.
