How much do you think it should cost to have 5000th of an inch honed out of a control arm hole?

Id do it for free if you were close by. A quick easy way to do it in your garage is with a flapper on a drill, .005" isnt much at all. Basically, get a 1/4 piece of round steel, cut a slit in it with a slitting saw, ziz wheel, or a saw and weld the end back up. It needs to be wide enough for some sand paper strips. I use 2" wide rolls. Slide in a bit of the paper, fold it, roll it around the arbor you just made. Cram it in the hole and go.

Free is great, and I wish you were. I was looking for what a machine shop might charge for that job. Set up, hone, and mic it. How long would that take, and how much is that worth?

You'll want a machine shop that has a rod honing machine. I'd guess $25 max. Shouldnt take more than 15 minutes

most shop will charge one hour rate,
I am with Jenson, simple to do .005, use a small rod/pen/pensel/any thing wrap 3-4 raps of tape " around whatever" leave a tail about 2-3 " loose then use a peace of sand paper/emery cloth 4-5 "( must be longer than the tail of tape)wrap it around the stem cucked in your drill and go to work on the hole

Jenson and Johnny are right, save the ~$25 and do it yourself. .005 aint much at all! You can do it!
