New to driveway sealing??

New to driveway sealing?? I used a latex driveway sealer for my asphalt driveway last week. I filled the cracks first with the liquid goo and cauking goo as recommended.
Question: Should I apply a second coat or is that a waste of dough?
I put a heavy application on but it did not fill all the nicks and crannys? I think the biggest advantage here is that the cracks are now sealed and the water cannot get in and freeze in the winter months.
