I just stack mine in the corner of the garage out of the way. I'm in Texas so not really concerned about weather.
I made mine 14 in x 14 in square, can't remember how tall. The serve many useful purposes. Would recommend.

That IS a clever AND cheap way to build jack stands!

Easy to build too. I had a kid at Home Depot cut some 2x8s into 14in sections for me.
Screwed together with deck screws. Also made some smaller spacers with the leftover lumber.

bojangles. thank you for the reply(s).... I thought I would see if any "engineers" on here had found a better than normal storage (your method) method. trying to see if something other than on the floor.... . I agree, they seem to be a pretty neat "tool" that can be used different ways. I am guessing that most are using them so not too much concern about floor space or storage of them...

thanks guys!

I made mine 16"x16"x16" and I store them by laying a piece of 3/4" plywood across the top to use as an extra table, stacking 2 on each end. They're awesome.

Mine are 3 6x6s next to each other and then two layers of 2x6 on top of that. I put two 2x4s going across the back and front as wheel chocks and some 2x2s as handles because they're very heavy! But I feel so safe under them. I pretty much hate jackstands at this point and never use them unless the wheels have to come off, the suspension has to hang, or the car needs to be really high in the air.

I put some of my jackstands on top of the cribbling blocks to cut some of the extra floor space used. I also usually put them in 2 stacks. I keep them at the front of the garage. No big deal.
