Default tool to pull off TH400 speedo gear?

my th400 came with a gear on the output shaft and I need to replace it with the reluctor & sensor setup. Anyone know of a good tool to pull off the gear with the trans still assembled?

How would you pull off the gear with a hammer? I'm not talking about the a gear in the side of teh case, I'm talking about the gear pressed on the output shaft.

you just remove the tail shaft and lightly tap on it until it starts moving.
