special socket
special socket hey guys, i was wondering if anyone made a socket to fit the later model torque converter bolts that have the allenhead/socket combo? the ones where you can either use the allen socket or the regular 6pt socket to remove..the socket i guess would have the right size allen wrench coming out of the middle of the socket and the outside would fit the bolt..that way it would grip the bolt by the allen and the hex head..ive been through this once with the damn thing stripping the allen bolts..this will be my first attempt to try and remove the newer style..i figure snap on would make something like this..just curious..

I've never seen what you're looking for.
Personally, if the bolts can take a regular 6pt socket, and you're worried about stripping them, just buy a single high quality socket. Say a Snap-On 12pt flank drive socket in the right size. They are only like $12 a piece or so.
A quality socket like Snap-On fits a nut/bolt much tighter than the cheaper brands, it seems. Their flank drive is a nice gimmick too.

well, i know on my buddys mr2, they made a special allen/socket combo for the head bolts.. i just thought maybe they might sell them, but there are so many combo's that could be available...probably not...
