Best in-car valvespring compressor? I'm going to tackle a cam swap for the first time in my Camaro and I was looking for the best tools to do it with. From just thinking about it and the things I've read, the valvesprings are what takes up most of the time. From what I've been told, choosing the right valvespring tool is very important. Anyhow, let me know first hand what you think is to be the best valvespring compressor?

The Crane valve spring tool is great. It was worth every penny (about $120 or so). It makes things so easy, and there is no hassle or fighting with it and it does 2 springs at once. It's nice to have a pen magnent to grab the keepers with too.

someone i know has a homemade tool made out of an old rocker with a socket welded on to it.. supposedly did the trick and was made with pocket change. ill see if he cant chime in on this

right now vinci has a great deal if you buy springs as well. vinci / crane dual springs (329.00) and valve spring tool (120.00) for 399.00. great deal unless you have springs already. they also sell the air chuck that screws into the head so you can used air to hold the valves up. from what i've read, most people have done a spring swap in 2 hours using this tool.
