Tool Set options

Tool Set options OK, I'm lookin for my very first tool set. I'm tired of using other peoples tools. I'm not the most experienced when it comes to knowing my tools, so I was hoping you guys could help me pick out a a nice kit. I was looking under craftsmans website in their tool set section and to make it easier might as well just try to pick one out from there, they have 80+ kits one of them has got to be a good fit. Price range for me is 250-350, maybe 400$ I'll be doin some exhaust, engine work, interior, a little bit of everything so I need a well-rounded kit for my price range. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

The Craftsman 246 and 254 piece sets are pretty nice all around sets. If you check ebay, Sears liquidation center and a few other vendors sell a ton of them, they usually go for under $150 and some of those kits come with plastic tool boxes, they usually don't specify though.

Exactly what sort of "exhaust, engine work" will you be doing? You won't get ring compressors, torque wrenches, pipe-cutters in those 246 piece sets. You will get a boatload of sockets though.
Save some money to buy the wrenches that don't come in those kits.

Thanks guys for the comments, I've been doin some more reserach and am goin to pick up the 254 pc. from craftsman on mon.
**edit, the exhaust work wouldn't be coming until a little later, thats why i didnt worry about it now. I'm running out of funds anyways lol.
