I'm just curious, is swapping valvesprings something that should only be left to a professional or someone with experience? I've done all my mods except stuff like the cam install and torque converter/tranny work.
If i had this tool and a good write up, would I be fine or would it be a much better idea to leave it to someone with experience. I'm worried my 918 valvesprings are getting worn out and I'd like to replace them. thanks!

Honestly Chris it is easier then it looks. If you are only replacing the valve spring like it sounds then it is a breeze. I think that you could do it no problem with a write up. Here is a link to website where they walk you thru. This specific link is for doing a cam and spring swap but again is sounds like you are only going to do a spring swap. Let me know if I can help you out with my spring swap tool as it is one of the easier tools to use and by far the best bang for the buck tool.

yeah, i just need to replace the springs. The only part i see being a problem from the writeup is keeping the valves from falling as my air compressor is leaking at the moment, plus i dont have the sparkplug extension for one. I guess with the tdc method, the valves will still fall a little. Is the tdc method easy to do with the front end(pullies etc...) still on the engine?
Are there any other options for keeping the valves up? thanks for the help

When you use the TDC method you can pull up on the valves when useing the tool so that you can get the lock in...it is not hard to do at all..that is the method I have used a few times..nothing to it..go for it man ..you will feel good when you finish!!

PS a little dab of grease on the locks will make them stick to the valve better when doing the spring swap..

I know a lot of people have already used this tool but i just wanted to post up and say this tool is worth every cent. Its was even easy to change the springs under the cowl. I feared changing springs more than anything else on my swap. Turns out after buying this tool swapping springs was the easiest part of my whole cam swap. Thanks again

Default Love to Help

Hi Mike,

I could get one in the mail 1st thing tomorrow morning for you as I ship via USPS Priority Mail which take usually 2-3 days for shipping. Obviously I can not tell you it will be there by Friday but it should. If you would like to make sure I can ship overnight to you but it costs you an extra $15 on top of the tool price. Let me know what you want me to do and I will gladly help you out. My paypal ID is: Ramair69gto@sbcglobal.net

Thanks,

Tim

Product ordered. I had a homemade tool that accomplished essentially the same thing, but I lost it and don't feel like fabbing another one.

Hi Gametech,

I checked everything, as well as logged onto Paypal and I do not show anything from you. If you can double check that you sent it to Ramair69gto@sbcglobal.net and we can go from there.

Thanks,
Tim
